If you didn't have your recycling collected earlier this week because of heavy flooding in South Somerset, you're being asked by the council to keep it out.

Crews are working as hard as they can to resume services after some households were missed earlier this week, with most residents asked to leave your boxes and bags of recycling out for two days, otherwise wait to bring it in until your next collection day.

Those in parts of Marriott and Crewkerne are asked to bring their boxes and bags in and put them back out on their next usual collection day.

The local authority say disruption might continue for the rest of the week, with the Met Office imposing a yellow weather warning across the county today, and teams will be out on Saturday to play catch-up.

Every week crews makes more than 350,000 collections across then county, but anyone impacted with delayed collections is asked to 'make the most of the space' in boxes and bags - by crushing, squashing and flattening items, if you can.

They are warning collections could still be impacted for the rest of the week because of the Met Office weather warning, and you can check whether roads in your area are impacted by visiting their website.
