Teaching staff praised for coping in 'difficult and challenging times'

“We are very proud of our fantastic school leaders and teachers in Somerset” - that’s the message from the county council after some were contacting parents last night following the announcement of England’s third national lockdown.

A spokesperson for the council said: “In light of 10 Downing Street's announcement, schools & colleges will open for children of key workers & vulnerable pupils from tomorrow (Tues 5 Jan).

"This will be difficult for families and schools at short notice & arrangements may vary so check with your school and would like to thank them for all they continue to do in these challenging times.
