Taunton Town's winding-up petition and transfer embargo lifted
The club have confirmed they have paid 'in full' their debts to HMRC

Taunton Town have confirmed this evening (21 February) the sums owed to HMRC have been paid in full - and their winding up petition has been lifted.
It also means the National League's transfer embargo on the club is no longer in force - however, they are warning this news doesn't mark 'the end of its financial challenges', especially with recent matches being postponed because they're currently suffering from a waterlogged pitch.
It's hoped this marks the first step in building 'good relations with HMRC', as they work to defend their place in the National League South this season - where they currently sit in 20th place.
In a statement, bosses at the club said: "Taunton Town Football Club can confirm that the sums that were owed to HMRC and which were the subject of the winding up petition issued against the Club in January have been paid in full resulting in the petition being lifted by HMRC.
"The Club has also been able to clear further arrears to HMRC which related to sums that became overdue after the issuing of the winding-up petition.
"These are important initial steps towards re-establishing good relations with HMRC, ensuring that the Club can continue trading and working towards ensuring the financial stability of the Club for the rest of this season and beyond.
"Having demonstrated to the National League that these arrears have been cleared the club is further pleased to be able to announce that the transfer embargo that was imposed on us by the League has now been lifted.
"This news will be a relief to all connected with the Club. However, these positive developments do not mean that the club is free from its financial challenges, and we are grateful for the continued patience and support of all concerned as the Club balances the need for prudent financial management with the obvious objective of retaining our National League status at the end of the season."
