Taunton Town have confirmed their chairman Kevin Sturmey has been signed off from work.

There'll be some changes at the club while he's off - with Karl Lindsay being assisted by the directors for the day-to-day running.

How that looks like 'in more detail' will be discussed this week.

The club have also expressed their frustration at yet another match being postponed because of a waterlogged pitch - something they say only adds to their financial woes, especially amid the winding-up petition which was imposed to them by HMRC last month.

In a statement on their website, club bosses said: " The club can confirm that unfortunately Kevin Sturmey has been signed off from work. Everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery.

"Karl Lindsay will be assisted by the directors with the day to day running of the club. The directors will be meeting with representatives of the TTFC Supporters Association this week to discuss what that looks like in more detail.

"Everyone at the club is incredibly disappointed that we have had to postpone our fixture with Torquay yet again. The weather has not been kind and only deepens the club’s financial challenges. Everyone at the club is working very hard to ensure the pitch is ready for Saturday and the visit of Maidstone."
