Starmer ejected from Bath pub after lockdown confrontation
A pub landlord accused the Labour leader of failing to ask whether lockdown was functioning
A landlord from Bath angry about lockdown restrictions has kicked the Labour leader out of his pub.
Sir Keir Starmer was confronted by Rod Humphris during a walkabout in the city - and ordered out after an argument with security.
The landlord accused him of 'not asking the questions that needed to be asked', and failing to ask if the lockdown was functioning.
The Labour leader responded by saying he takes a 'profoundly different view' from Mr Humphris on the issue.
Later, the pub appeared to be attempting to distance itself from the row, tweeting on its official account that "Rod's opinion is his own".
The Labour leader tweeted what he called a 'statement', which consisted of a link to the Government's official register to vote page.
Bath's MP has tweeted she's sorry about the incident, but politicians need to 'listen and respond' to people who are 'struggling and angry'
