Sporting community in Somerset pay tribute to HRH Queen Elizabeth II

Sporting communities across Somerset are paying tribute after Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, died aged 96.

Messages have been pouring in on social media from teams across our local area, since Her Majesty passed away at Balmoral on Thursday (8th September).

Among those sharing tributes is Yeovil Town Football Club who say they are "extremely saddened" by the passing of Her Majesty the Queen.

Elsewhere, Bath Rugby have paid tribute online, saying they "mourn with the nation".

Weston-super-Mare AFC say they are "deeply saddened" by the passing of Her Majesty The Queen.

Frome Town FC say they "join the nation in mourning the death" of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. They say it's a "sad time".

Somerset County Cricket Club have shared an image of The Queen, saying their "thoughts" are with The Royal Family.
