A Somerset man says he's been "hearted" by all the support he's getting - after speaking to us from the frontline of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Steve Brooks is part of a team volunteering out there to train Ukrainian fighters in emergency battlefield medicine

The 47 old, from Shepton Mallet, says he listens to Greatest Hits Radio while hunkering down during shelling attacks - and has been very careful how he makes contact with us to avoid giving the enemy any location or intelligence information.

While primarily there to offer medical training, the group have been helping local emergency services and recovering the wounded.

The group have crowdfunded £2,500 for the trip but have appealed for more support.

Steve said: "If you can donate please donate. Every penny that comes to us goes on food, fuel and medical supplies so we can keep operating."

Fellow team member Dave told us: "We are running low on medical supplies and the people here need more than we can do to help them."

The crowdfunder says: "Together we can make a direct impact on the lives of people who face another year of war and the threat of being bombed shot or occupied, in a war they didn't ask for and can't escape."
