A Somerset cheese exporter has been telling us they hope to brave the brunt of Trumps tariffs.

Barber's Cheese has been hit with a ten percent tariff.

The company export a huge amount to the U.S., with warnings the consumer will be hit the worst.

Charlie Barber helps run the business, he said: "I think probably safe to say we we were expecting 20 percent tariffs to come our way.

"So when it sort of was confirmed as 10 percent, we were a little bit relieved.

"We've obviously got to pass that thought in that tariff cost on to our customers.

"So yeah, it's going to result in an increase in the cost of our goods for the consumers in the US."

Trump last week announced a pause on tariffs.

However, that only applies to some of the new tariffs.

The minimum ten percent tariff rate, is still in place for goods, meaning Barber's Cheese aren't subject to a break.
