Searches are continuing into a third day, for a man missing off the Somerset coast.

The man, who's not been named, disappeared in the water off Burnham on Sea at around 4pm on Sunday (29 October), after reportedly jumping in to help a woman and her dog who had got into difficulty.

The woman and her pet were able to get out, but the man was swept away.

In an update released this morning (1 November) Avon and Somerset Police say they are continuing to search for the man in coastal areas.

"We continue to keep the man’s family updated and our thoughts are with them at this especially difficult time," a spokesperson said.

"The man remains missing.”

On Monday (30 October) Greatest Hits Radio were in Burnham to witness the Burnham Area Rescue Boat and RNLI teams carry out searches on the water.
