A record by a Somerset man has been chosen as the official song of next year's International Climate Film Festival.
Scott O'Hara's track called 'Edge of Forever' will be used to help promote the annual event which takes place in Frome.
He said: "First off as an independent singer-songwriter, just trying to find an audience, it's always amazing when anyone hears something that I've done and gives positive feedback on it. To win a song-writing prize was out of this world."
The festival aims to highlight the impacts of climate change, and Scott explained where the idea for the record came from: "There was some politicians at COP 27 trying to spin having achieved very little to a press conference audience. I thought what would they say to their families on the telephone that night?"
Festival Director James Godman said: "Scott O'Hara's 'Edge of Forever' is a 'wonderful example of the role art can play in raising awareness about climate change'.
He added: "This powerful anthem captures the urgency and hope surrounding global climate action, resonating deeply with listeners. The song is now available on all major streaming platforms and will be featured in the Festival's promotional campaigns.
"In addition, the Festival is excited to introduce a brand-new category for the 2025 event called Best Music Video. This category aims to recognise and celebrate the artists who are using the powerful combination of music and visual storytelling to highlight critical environmental issues. By introducing the Best Climate-Themed Music Video category, we hope to inspire more creative collaborations that amplify the call for environmental action."
The Frome International Climate Festival is run by a community interest company.
