Appeal for witnesses to hate crime in Wellington

The force say an unknown suspect made homophobic comments

Police are appealing for help to identify a person in connection with a hate crime in Wellington.

The force say an unknown suspect made homophobic comments towards the victim before punching them in the face in pub in Fore Street on Saturday 6th July.

The victim sought medical attention and are recovering at home.

He is white, approximately 6ft 1ins tall, in his late 20s, with short, dark hair and stubble.

Officers have now released CCTV footage of a man they would like to speak with who could aid their enquiries.
