Pedestrian dies after collision in Taunton

Avon and Somerset Police are continuing to investigate a suspected hit-and-run in Taunton.

The force were called to the A38 Wellington Road at around 1am this morning (13 January).

Despite efforts of the emergency services a pedestrian, a man believed to be in his 60s, died at the scene.

Officers remain at the scene of the incident, meaning the road is closed between its junctions with Silk Mills Road and Galmington Road while investigations continue.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
