Parents across the Southwest concerned about back to school costs
Supplies are expected to cost more than ever
Parents across the Southwest are expecting school supplies to cost more than previous years.
That's according to research by the lender Creditspring, who found nearly 30% of parents across the region are worried they won't be able to afford uniforms or stationery this September.
It comes as household finances become increasingly stretched after the expensive summer holiday period.
31% are expecting items to cost them more than previous years with 25% likely to cut down on spending on other essential items to be able to afford it.
Meanwhile 10% of people said it's unaffordable with the same number relying on credit to buy what's needed.
The high costs are also seeing some parents admitting they would consider home schooling their child to avoid the annual expenses.
