One person arrived at a proposed anti-immigration protest in Yeovil on Sunday (18th August).

Avon and Somerset Police Officers who were on patrol in the town say they spoke to just one man who said he was a protestor.

It's after weeks of unrest around the country and several far-right protests and disorder.

In a statement officers said: "Police were aware of a proposed anti-immigration protest in Yeovil on Sunday 18 August and neighbourhood officers were on patrol in the town.

"While on patrol officers came across one individual who identified himself as a protestor.

"He left after a short while, telling officers the event was not going ahead."
