A motorcyclist has died in a crash on the A350 in West Ashton overnight.
The incident happened on the crossroads, with the man in his 60s from Westbury pronounced dead at the scene
The driver of the van wasn't injured.
In a statement, officers said: "A motorcyclist has died following a serious collision at the A350 West Ashton crossroads yesterday evening (17/12).
"At around 9.10pm, a Yamaha YP 400 travelling northeast on the A350 towards Semington was involved in a collision with a Volkswagen Taigo travelling from the direction of West Ashton Road.
"The rider of the Yamaha, a man in his 60s from Westbury, was sadly declared dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this tragic time.
"The driver of the Taigo, a man in his 20s, suffered no reported injuries.
"A road closure remains in place in both directions on the A350 between Yarnbrook and Ashton Common while our enquiries are carried out.
"Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have dash cam is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 319 of yesterday’s date."
