Motorcyclist dies after crash in Yeovil

The man in his 20s died from his serious injuries after being taken to hospital following the incident last Thursday

A motorcyclist has died after a crash in Yeovil last week.

It happened last Thursday between a car and a motorbike, with a man in his 20s rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

He passed away two days later.

A woman in her 30s, who was driving the car on Western Avenue, suffered minor injuries.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: "A car and a motorbike collided in Western Avenue, at the junction with Malmesbury Way, at about 4.15pm on Thursday 3 August.

"The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was seriously injured and taken to hospital. Sadly, he died in hospital two days later.

"A specially-trained family liaison officer is supporting the family and our thoughts remain with them."

Enquiries into the collision by police continue.
