Man dies after being found critically injured on A38
Police are appealing for witnesses

A man in his mid-50s has died after being found critically injured on the A38 early this morning (January 30)
A member of the public found the injured pedestrian on the A38 Bridgwater Road, Winscombe, between Fox Lane and Fullers Lane at around 12.10am on this morning (January 30).
Emergency services attended, but he died of his injuries at the scene.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and police are in the early stages of an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
At this stage, it is unclear how the man sustained his injuries, though officers are are keeping an open mind and considering whether it was potentially a result of a collision with a vehicle that failed to stop.
The road remains closed, with officers and emergency services still at the scene.
Police say intelligence checks have been carried out.
Officers are urging drivers with dashcam footage between 11.45pm and 12.20am this morning to come forward as well as and anyone who witnessed unusual or suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident or who may have seen the man or events leading up to it.
