A 46-year-old man remains in police custody charged with arson after a caravan was allegedly set on fire in Minehead.
Emergency services attended the scene in Taunton on Tuesday (17 September).
The force said Matthew Tippett has also been charged with assault by beating and making a threat to destroy / damage a property.
A spokesperson said: "A 46-year-old man has appeared before magistrates in Taunton charged with arson after a caravan was set on fire in Minehead.
"Matthew Tippett, of no fixed address, has also been charged with assault by beating, making a threat to damage/ destroy property and breach of a court order.
"All the charges relate to incidents in Minehead on Tuesday 17 September.
"Tippett was remanded into custody to appear at Taunton Crown Court at a future date."
