The M5 remains closed in Somerset due to an overturned lorry and a damaged barrier.

The road is shut northbound between junction 26 for Wellington and junction 25 for Taunton.

Crews are currently working on the road to repair the barrier.

Highways England are urging motorists to be patient, while they are advising anyone who needs to make an essential journey to avoid the area.

Saturday is traditionally a day for sport and the closure has affected some trainers travelling to the races.
