Lele Nairne's Olympic hopes were ended with a first-round defeat at the Champ-de-Mars Arena.

Competing in her first Games in the under 57 kilograms category, 26-year-old Nairne was beaten 10-0 by Eteri Liparteliani of Georgia.

The British champion, from Weston-super-Mere, saw her challenge cut short by ippon after just one minute and 57 seconds.

"Not the fight I wanted," said Nairne. "I'm very disappointed. She's a tough, tough competitor and I wish the best for her.

"I'm proud of myself, I just wish I could have fought a bit better."
