Investigation launched over incident at Somerset slip 'n' slide
The attraction has released a statement.
Somerset Council says it is investigating an incident at a slip 'n' slide in Shepton Mallet.
Reports on social media suggest a boy was injured in an incident involving a water suction pump at UltimateSlipnSlide on Sunday.
The company has issued a statement, saying the safety of customers is paramount and that it is trying to contact the parents of the boy.
The council says it was made aware of the incident through social media, and that it has not formally been reported.
It adds that because the business is only open at weekends, it has "not yet been able to do an in-depth investigation".
UltimateSlipnSlide has spoken about the incident on its Facebook page, a post which has received mixed reviews from some of those commenting.
As well as highlighting the attraction's safety record and efforts to keep customers safe, the statement also says: "We have rules and signs highlighting what everyone should and shouldn't do to remain free from harm, sometimes these aren't followed and incidents occur."
One commenter wrote: "So glad you put this up!"
But others have been more critical, with one posting: "This statement is completely tone deaf."
