Time is running out to have your say on the ease or difficulty of accessing a GP appointment in Somerset.

Independent group HealthWatch are carrying their biggest ever piece of research into the issue - saying it's the number one complaint they hear.

Mandy Starks said: "A lot of people can't get appointments, same day appointments and a lot of people have had to wait weeks in advance to get an appointment."

She said the work they do - as an independent group - helps make an impact, adding: " "We make recommendations and we feed our recommendations to NHS England and we also feed our recommendations to NHS Somerset."

The consultation runs until the end of this month

A Healthwatch spokesperson said: "Concern about access to GPs continues to be one of the most common issues people raise with us. National and local evidence underscores the challenges people face when booking a GP appointment, including limited face-to-face appointments, increased use of digital technology, and long waiting times.

"Through our new public survey, we want to find out how you book appointments with your GP, for example, by phone, in person, online, via App or email. We also want to know if you have been offered a face-to-face appointment or an alternative option, and if that was suitable for you."
