Yeovil Town has confirmed that the First Team will be heading to Bristol for the new season - as the Glovers prepare to move the training ground.

They're calling the strategic move a 'significant step forward', with the facility giving players and staff access to top-class facilities in a high-performance environment.

The Glovers are off to the SGS Wise Campus, which'll be used to support the day-to-day development of the squad and enhance overall professional standards.

'Major milestone'

Executive Chairman Stuart Robins said: “This move represents a major milestone in the continued evolution of Yeovil Town Football Club.

"Providing our players and staff with access to elite training facilities is essential if we are to raise standards and push toward our ambition of returning to the Football League.

"The SGS Wise Campus offers exactly the kind of environment we need to drive progress and deliver results, while maintaining our strong identity and connection with the Yeovil community.”

They also say that being in Bristol will make the squad better placed to attract a wider pool of talent as they aim for a return to the Football League.

'A Positive step'

First-Team Manager Mark Cooper added: “From a football perspective, this is a really positive step for the club.

"The facilities at SGS Wise are first-class and will help create the kind of professional, high-performance culture we want to build here. It’s about giving the players everything they need to develop, compete, and succeed.

"At the same time, our heart remains in Yeovil – we’re doing this to bring success back to our fans and our town.”

Bosses have confirmed that the football club's roots 'remain firmly in Yeovil'.

Connor Sidley-Adams of SGS College commented on the new partnership: “Yeovil Town FC training at the SGS Wise Campus next year is a really exciting opportunity for the College and Yeovil Town FC.

"Over the last couple of years we’ve worked tirelessly to position the WISE Campus as a centre for elite sport which has seen a range of international and elite teams use our outstanding facilities.

"To have a club such as Yeovil Town FC using our facilities on a daily basis is testament to this progress.

"The partnership will be an exciting one that will provide opportunities for collaboration through our outstanding academic and academy programmes, presenting students with a number of opportunities.”
