The General Election results are in for Somerset, with the Lib Dems gaining six new seats.

Labour has won the election, meaning Sir Keir Starmer is the new Prime Minister.

Millions of people headed to polling stations to vote yesterday (Thursday 4 July).

Declarations

In North East Somerset, Labour’s Dan Norris ousted notable Conservative Jacob Rees-Mogg.

There’s Lib Dem gains in Yeovil (Adam Dance), Frome & East Somerset (Anna Sabine), Taunton & Wellington (Gideon Amos), Tiverton & Minhead (Rachel Gilmour), Wells & Mendip (Tessa Munt), Weston-Super-Mare (Dan Aldridge) and Glastonbury & Somerton (Sarah Dyke).

While Wera Hobhouse held on to Bath for the Lib Dems too.

Labour gained a seat in North Somerset, with Sadik Al-Hassan.

And in Bridgwater, it was a Conservative hold for Ashley Fox.
