Fire in Yeovilton overnight was started accidentally, confirm crews

A fire overnight which saw crews from Yeovil, Martock, Somerton, Wincanton, Castle Cary, Street and Sherborne attend is believed to have been started accidentally.

They were called to Pyle Lane in Yeovilton just after 9pm.

A fire service spokesperson said: "Fire crews were mobilised to a report of outbuildings on fire at the above location.

"This was a fire involving one outbuilding of wood construction measuring approximately 6m x 4m, 40% damaged by fire.

"Second outbuilding measuring 4m x 4m 20% damaged by fire and one pickup truck 70% damaged by fire.

"Equipment used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, two covering jets, one compressed air foam jet and two thermal imaging cameras.

"The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental."
