Drivers in Combe Florey are being urged to check before you travel with essential highway drainage improvements happening from today (March 20) until the end of the month.
Somerset County Council is carrying out the essential highway works along the A358 Williton Road, at Yarde Farm, seeing upgrades of the drainage grips along the eastern verge of the road.
It's to allow surface water to better drain off the road surface and help reduce future highway flooding.
No road closure is required as the work will be carried out under temporary lights and a lane closure from Monday 20 March to Friday 31 March.
Two-way traffic will be maintained between 9 am and 3pm Monday to Friday, while all restrictions will be removed outside of these times.
Councillor Mike Rigby, Somerset County Council’s Lead Member for Transport and Digital said: "It’s pleasing to see the joined-up approach with local stakeholders to get these much-needed improvements over the line.
“The work will remain open to traffic throughout and will take place before traffic volumes increase due to the Easter holidays to minimise disruption as much as possible.”
Details of approved roadworks can be found here.
