Delays in Taunton after vehicle fire on Upper High Street

Police and the fire service are at the scene of a vehicle caught alight on Taunton's Upper High Street.

Officers say the road towards Musgrove Park Hospital is open - but closed in the opposite direction - which might cause some delays during the morning rush hour.

We're told there'll be delays for the next couple of hours to let the car cool down before it can be recovered.

Avon and Somerset Police tell us: "We are assisting our colleagues from Somerset Fire at a vehicle fire on Upper High Street in Taunton.

"Upper High Street towards Musgrove Park Hospital will be open, however will be closed in the opposite direction.

"This should be no longer than 2 hours as we wait for the vehicle to cool down so it can be recovered safely."
