Yeovil Town have named Darren Simpson as their new Assistant Manager, reuniting him with boss Billy Rowley, whose appointment was also announced yesterday (26/11).

The pair arrive at Huish Park after a successful spell together at Walton and Hersham, where they helped push the club up the non league pyramid.

Simpson also brings experience from working with young players at Chelsea’s academy, and is well known for his detailed coaching style.

The club says Simpson will play a key role as the Glovers prepare for the next stage of their journey.

The Glovers said in a post: "Simpson arrives at Huish Park having worked closely with new manager Billy Rowley, following him from their successful time together at Walton and Hersham, where the pair helped drive the club through a remarkable rise in the non league pyramid. Simpson previously built strong coaching foundations within the academy structure at Chelsea, where he gained valuable experience working with young players in an elite environment.

"Known for his detailed coaching style and ability to develop players, Simpson now takes up a key position within the Glovers backroom staff as preparations continue for the next stage of the club’s progression.

"Everyone at Yeovil Town welcomes Darren to Huish Park and looks forward to the impact he will bring in his new role."
