A man has appeared in court after wounding another man with a crossbow in Wellington.

Police were called to Wardlewoth Way at around 9.50pm on Monday 9 June after, a man in his 30s was injured by a crossbow bolt.

43-year-old Anthony Northover appeared at Taunton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 11 June.

He was charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He was remanded into custody to appear at Taunton Crown Court on Friday 11 July.
