Exmoor is home to the highest sea cliffs in the British mainland, the highest and lowest tides in Europe, plants that only grow there and the start of Britain's longest coast path.

They are just some of the facts you may not know, as National Park bosses encourage us to celebrate Exmoor Day.

It was 68 years ago it was designated as a National Park and bosses have released 10 ideas to help make more use of it.

Dan James, Rural Enterprise Manager, said: “The landscapes of Exmoor have been a constant source of inspiration and refreshment for many generations.

"We know that many talk about the moor capturing something in their hearts so Join with us on Exmoor Day, whether near or far, and celebrate this very special place.”

Emma Thomasson, Chief Executive of Visit Exmoor, said “On Exmoor Day we celebrate the unique and inspiring landscapes of Exmoor.

"There is a reason that so many people visit Exmoor and our National Park throughout the seasons. The stunning landscapes, breath-taking coastline and vibrant communities make this a very special place. "
