Avon and Somerset police are asking for help from the public in identifying a male (pictured below) in connection with an incident in Yeovil on Friday (26 November).

Officers were contacted by staff at a bank, in Middle Street, at approximately 2.05pm to say a man had entered the branch, and made threats to carry out a robbery there, before leaving on foot.

They are keen to hear from anyone who saw the way he travelled after leaving the bank or who was driving in the vicinity and may have relevant dashcam footage.

Officers attended the scene and conducted an area tour but it proved negative.

CCTV enquiries have been carried out and show a male we wish to talk to in connection with our investigation.

He’s described as white, in his late-30s or early-40s, of a slim build and estimated to be just under 6ft.

He is seen wearing dark clothing, a beanie-style hat and also carried a black rucksack.

Witnesses who haven’t yet spoken to police, or anyone who recognises the individual, are asked to call 101 and give reference number 5221278565.

Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
