Bristol's Mayor Marvin Rees has announced he's launching a bid to bring next year's Eurovision Song Contest to the city.

Due to the conflict in Ukraine - they won't be able to host it in 2023, despite winning this year - and so it's being held in the UK instead.

Marvin Rees addressed crowds via video on the big screens at this weekend's Pride Day celebrations on the Downs ahead of headliner Carly Rae Jepson.

He opened with the iconic Eurovision line "Hello Pride, this is Bristol calling' and said if the city was successful it would be held at the new YTL Arena in Filton.
