Bath's Christmas Market will go ahead this December.
The event was cancelled in 2020 because of Covid but during a meeting last night councillors on Bath and North East Somerset (BANES) Council's cabinet voted unanimously to allow it to happen.
It will be the 20th anniversary of the market this year with it set to go ahead from 25 November to 12 December.
Usually the market boasts more than 160 chalet style stalls all across the city centre and attracts up to 400,000 visitors from the UK and abroad.
It also provides a huge boost to the local economy, with an average spend each year of ÂŁ32.5 million.
During the cabinet meeting last night councillor Dine Romero said she did not expect as many visitors this Christmas however, as the market would not be advertised internationally.
Extra space will also be built into the make up for the market to help allow social distancing.
Councillor Richard Samuel said the council is committed to helping the local economy recover from coronavirus, but he is aware of the risks of coronavirus.
"The risk of cancellation must be acknowledged," he said.
"It is impossible to predict what will happen over the next five to six months. and so the decision to proceed has to be tempered with caution and realism.
"on the balance of probabilities I have concluded that it will be possible to hold the market this year."
