Bath Christmas Market returns in one week
230 traders are participating in this year’s event
Bath’s most wonderful time of the year will kick-off again in only one week’s time.
Bath’s much-loved Christmas market is returning on Thursday, 28 November, with live music, cheer and dance performances, and a ‘Meet Father Christmas’ experience.
Until the 15th of December, over 180 chalets will be set up among iconic landmarks, like the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey and the historic Milsom Street.
“With twinkling lights, unique artisan gifts and festive treats, Bath Christmas Market is the perfect place to immerse yourself in holiday cheer”, said Councillor Paul Roper, cabinet member for Economic and Cultural Sustainable Development.
He added: “This year we have committed to creating a more inclusive and sustainable experience”.
This includes quieter shopping hours from 10am to 12pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays with limited entertainment for those who find the full programme overwhelming.
The market is also aiming for a more sustainable approach by offering a 50p discount to customers who bring a reusable cup instead of opting for single-use cups.
Visitors are asked to use the city’s Park & Rides which will be providing additional services during the 18 days of the event.
Cllr Roper called the event “a boost for local and regional businesses, with 85% of the 230 traders this year based in the South West and 40% of the traders who have signed up for the first time based in Bath”.
“We are excited to see everyone come together as a community to celebrate the magic of the season at the market”.
Bath Christmas Market is among the 20 markets shortlisted for ‘Best European Christmas Market 2025’ on the travel website European Best Destinations.
The event has also been named as one of the top eight Christmas Markets in the country by Which? magazine.
Orlando Partner, who is a returning stallholder and the founder of Bath’s Choux Box Patisserie, said: “We love being a part of the festive atmosphere at the Bath Christmas Market”.
“Connecting with our existing customers and introducing ourselves to new people from all over the world in the centre of our beautiful city, it’s Bath at its best”, he continued.
The market will be open Monday to Wednesday from 10am to 7pm, Thursday to Saturday from 10 am to 8pm, and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
The annual resident’s preview night will take place on Wednesday, 27 November, between 5pm and 7pm.
