The A303 in Somerset has been closed in both directions for much of the day today (23 November) between Horton Cross and Honiton after a serious crash.

Avon and Somerset Police are currently on the scene, and the road's expected to be shut for some time.

National Highways said this morning: "The A303 in Somerset is closed in both directions between the A358 (Horton Cross) and the A30/A35 (Honiton) due to a serious collision.

"The A358 over bridge is also closed at Horton Cross.

"The road is likely to remain closed through out the rest of the morning.

"Avon and Somerset Police remain in attendance."

Police tell us this afternoon the A358 has now reopened.

They add that the A303 remains closed and will remain so until at least this evening.

You can find out more about the diversion in place on the National Highways website.
