Gregory Scriven, 41 of Wick Road, Brislington, was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on February 16
A burglar who broke into a house in Bridgwater - along with three other people - has been sentenced to 28 months in prison following his guilty plea.
Gregory Scriven, 41 of Wick Road, Brislington, was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday 16 February after being charged with dwelling burglary with violence during the incident on March 15, 2022.
The court heard how, at around 4am, Scriven broke into a property in Mount Street, in Bridgwater, along with three other people who have not been able to identify.
Once inside, they assaulted two occupants and made off with some of their belongings, including a set of car keys, where Scriven subsequently drove off in the occupant's car.
The victims sustained minor injuries in the incident.
PC Brennan Brown said: "Officers from the force's dedicated burglary team, Op Remedy, have worked to identify those involved, managing to identify Scriven and bring him to justice for his involvement.
"We will continue to work on this investigation to identify the other offenders and explore new lines of enquiry.
"We hope this sentence will act as a warning to other would-be burglars and the community is reassured by this positive outcome."
Along with the custodial sentence of 28 months, Scriven was also ordered to pay £190 in victim surcharge.
