A woman in her 40s has been targeted in a racially aggravated assault in Salisbury.

The victim approached by a group of five people while she was walking along Odstock Road between 4.00 and 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday 3rd November).

It's alleged two members of the group, believed to be around 12 or 13 years old, assaulted her.

She was hit in the face several times, before having verbal abuse shouted at her.

She wasn't visibly injured, but was left shocked and upset.

Wiltshire Police are asking any witnesses to come forward, saying that as the incident happened on the main, busy road up to the hospital, there's a good chance someone might have seen what happened.

Officers are also calling for anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch with them.

If you can help with any information, you're asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting reference number 54220116272.

You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
