Woman seriously injured after violent Salisbury restaurant argument

A woman in her 50s is in hospital after being stabbed with a piece of glass in a Salisbury restaurant on Thursday night (13/11).

Police say her injuries are serious, but not believed to be life-threatening, and she's in a stable condition.

A woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and is in custody for questioning in Melksham.

Police were called to Thai Orchid on Fisherton Street after reports of a violent argument between two members of staff.

Detective Inspector Eirin Martin, South CID, said: “This was a serious incident in which a woman was injured inside the restaurant following an argument.

"Officers responded quickly, making an arrest at the scene and securing the area to allow enquiries to take place. The cordon remains in place at the restaurant entrance and exit, but Fisherton Street is open as usual.”
