Woman injured after "serious" road crash amid icy conditions in Wiltshire

A woman's been airlifted to hospital after a serious accident at Berwick St Leonard last night.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash on the B3089 that happened just before 6pm.

One of the vehicles ended up on its side.

Wiltshire Police are urging drivers to careful after multiple reports of black ice and difficult driving conditions.

A spokesperson from Wiltshire Police said:

"Officers were called by the ambulance service to the B3089 in Berwick St Leonard at 5.50pm following a collision involving two vehicles. One of the vehicles had flipped on to its side.

"The air ambulance attended the scene and a woman has been taken to hospital in a serious condition. The road is currently closed.

"Later this evening, police were called by the fire service to the B4039 Yatton Keynell, near Chippenham, shortly before 7.30pm following a report of a collision involving three vehicles.

"The road remains closed while the incident is dealt with.

"Our control room is continuing to receive multiple reports of black ice across the county and driving conditions are difficult."

Officers have also asked for any information relating to any of the incidents to be reported to police, by calling 101.
