Two women arrested on suspicion of drugs and money laundering offences in Chippenham
Police carried out raids in the town this morning
Two women have been arrested by police in Chippenham investigating drug dealing and money laundering.
They were detained at addresses in Lord Mead and Conway Road as part of an operation.
Officers say they recovered a number of items from the properties where the 59 and 22 year old were held.
Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Jamie Ball said, "These warrants demonstrate our determination to disrupt drug activity and protect our communities.
"We rely on the support of the public and encourage anyone with concerns or information about drug activity to contact us. Every report helps us take action and keep our neighbourhoods safe.
"We recognise that when it comes to drug-related activity, it can sometimes be frustrating for those who report concerns if it seems we do not act immediately.
"Rest assured, our officers carefully build up a clear picture before moving in, as these are often complex investigations that require detailed planning. Today’s action is an example of that process in practice."
