Appeal for witnesses to Stratford sub Castle assault

There's a new appeal for witnesses following a reported assault on a teenage girl in Stratford sub Castle.

The victim contacted Wiltshire Police at around 11.00am last Thursday (1st June), from the Mill Lane area.

Officers now want to hear from anyone who can help with information.

They're especially looking to trace a woman, who was walking along the footpath shortly afterwards.

She's described as in her 20s, and wearing a grey dress.

28 year old William Thomas, of Macklin Road, in Salisbury, has been charged with attempted rape, assault occasioning ABH with intent to commit a sexual offence, and possession of a bladed article, in connection with this incident.

He's been remanded in custody to appear in court again on July 5th.
