Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital taking in animal orphans
The Newton Tony centre has plenty of babies in its care at the moment
The Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital has had to take in a number of orphan animals - as Spring gets nearer.
The Newton Tony centre usually sees a rise in babies coming into their care at this time of year, with the first little ones of 2023 needing support.
The charity's already taken in otter cubs, three leverets (baby hares), two young rabbits and five baby wood mice.
They're all being hand reared by volunteers within the charity.
A fox cub has also come into their care, having been abandoned by its mum within seconds of being born.
A member of the public watched a vixen giving birth to the little one in her garden - and left straight afterwards.
An hour later, when the mum hadn't returned, the Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital was called.
Despite the odds, the cub is now around a week old, being fed every 3 to 4 hours, and getting stronger.
