Wiltshire village butcher voted UK's best bangers
Competition win means they are number one in the whole of the country
It's official, the UK's best sausages come from a village butcher in south Wiltshire.
T Buttling Butchers in Ludwell is now number one in the Champion of Champions 2020 competition.
An independent panel of experts from the industry decided the taste, texture, and size of their bangers meant they deserved to be crowned winner.
The accolade is for T Buttling's traditional pork and sage sausages.
On their Facebook page yesterday , T Buttling posted:
"And…WE’VE ONLY GONE AND WON IT! We officially produce the best sausage in the UK & Ireland!! A huge thanks to our amazing team, we are absolutely ecstatic at this incredible achievement!"
"So, if you notice any of us skipping around with a big cheesy grin on our faces, no we haven’t gone completely mad yet, we are just coming to terms with the fact that we produce the best sausage in the country! Don’t worry, this is not the last you will hear about it! We will be keeping you regularly updated with all things “best sausage” related!"
T Buttling Butchers has been running since 1978, and is now in its fourth generation of owners, with a track record of traditional family butchering from its base in the heart of the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. It holds a number of awards for its sausages and pies.
Organised by Meat Trades Journal, the Champion of Champions 2020 competition was held on Wednesday 7th July in Crawley, West Sussex.
Champion of Champions is the ultimate competition that is unique in presenting the best sausages in the country.
