People urged to share views on plans to shape Wiltshire's local transport
It covers road safety and car parking as well as bus and rail services
People living in Wiltshire are being encouraged to have their say in shaping a plan for local transport.
A consultation period is underway for Wiltshire Council's Local Transport Plan 4 (LTP4), which runs until 11:59pm on Friday 24th January 2025.
LTP4 will set the direction for all the county's transport between 2025 and 2038, including road safety, highway network management and enhancement, car parking, buses, rail, walking and wheeling, freight, electric vehicles and more.
It will also guide how the county’s existing transport infrastructure will be improved in the coming years.
People can share their views through an online survey here.
One webinar, where we can find out more, has already been hosted - but can be viewed on the Council's YouTube page.
A second is set for Monday 13th January at 6pm.
Cllr Tamara Reay, Cabinet Member for Transport, said: “Transport is something that is important to us all, whether we are motorists, cyclists, pedestrians or users of public transport. It is also a key enabler for economic growth.
“That is why it is important that everyone takes part in this consultation to help shape the future of transport in Wiltshire. To find out more and ask questions, people can join us at one of our information webinars, or they can read all the documents and share their views through the survey on our website.
“We are taking a place-led approach to LTP4 by aligning it to our Local Plan, and this will enable us to take into account the unique circumstances and requirements of our rural towns and villages and could help to unlock more funding to improve transport throughout Wiltshire.”
