Wiltshire Police are urging us to be vigilant of rogue traders, following an incident on Downsway in Salisbury.

An elderly man was called by woman who told him a roofer would visit his home on Sunday 18th February to assess improvements to the building's roof.

A man arrived around 11am at the property and quoted the elderly man £8,000 for the work, having looked around the man's loft.

Luckily, no cash was handed over.

However, the homeowner did notice a number of items, including post, had gone missing following the "roofers" visit.

Officers have been carrying out enquiries in the area and are reminding us to be mindful of rogue traders operating across the county.

If we have concerns, we should call 101 or if a crime is in progress, call 999.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident should call 101 and quote 54240019288.
