Wiltshire Police called to 9 incidents during England's victory over Ukraine in the Euros
Force say evening generally passed peacefully
Wiltshire Police say they were pleased to report England's quarter final match on Saturday night passed generally peacefully, with the vast majority of fans around the county enjoying the event in a responsible and law abiding manner.
Officers recorded nine incidents linked to the Euros, across Wiltshire and Swindon, and no arrests made that were directly attributable to the football.
Superintendent Phil Staynings said:
"We have been working closely with local authorities and licenced premises to ensure public safety and we continue to remind fans to enjoy themselves responsibly ahead of England facing Denmark in the semi-finals."
"It's great to see England doing so well. I would like to take this opportunity to thank members of the public who have been so good natured in their celebrations. It is also heartening to see that the vast majority of people have been mindful of their communities and have engaged really well with our officers."
Last Tuesday night, when England played Germany in the round of 16, there were 20 recorded incidents with six arrests made in total.
