Most Wiltshire families offered first choice primary school
The vast majority of parents had applied online for places this September
99% of Wiltshire families have been offered one of their three primary school preferences for this September with 95% offered their first preference.
The majority of Mums and Dads now go online to apply for places with 94.5% of the 4938 applications received doing so.
Parents that applied online by the deadline date will be able to see the outcome of their application from 8.00am today (Friday 16 April) at www.wiltshire.gov.uk
Parents who've submitted paper applications will get a letter confirming the outcome of their application. That's being posted out today too (16 April 2021).
STATS ON SCHOOL ADMISSIONS
2021 Primary Intake
Applications received = 4938 (359 less applications than 2020, due to smaller cohort)
Online applications = 4667 (94.5%)
Paper applications = 271 (5.5%)
Lucy Townsend, Corporate Director for People at Wiltshire Council, said:
"We know that families across the county will be eagerly awaiting today's news, as their child prepares to start school. I'm pleased to be sharing such high figures once again, with 95% offered their first preference, showing that Wiltshire is delivering quality school places locally where they are needed."
The right to an independent appeal is open to anyone who has not received an offer at one of their preferred schools. Parents who wish to appeal for a place at a voluntary controlled or community school should visit our website for details of how to appeal.
