A Wiltshire organisation who recycle second hand pieces of tech are celebrating after being awarded a huge amount of funding.

Wiltshire Digital Drive have been given £135,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund.

That money is going to be used to recruit a corporate fundraiser for three years, to help the business grow.

The non-profit organisation, established in October 2020, exists to recycle, refurbish and redistribute second hand laptops to those who need it most.

This includes businesses, schools and families.

Natalie Sherman, Co-Director of Wiltshire Digital Drive, said:

“To date we have saved over 6 tonnes of waste from going to landfill and helped over 1300 people to get connected by providing them with their own laptop, free of charge. But there’s so much more to do. Thanks to National Lottery players, this grant means that we can really begin to accelerate our impact in Wiltshire. This will make a big difference to people’s lives.”
