Landowners and farmers in Wiltshire are being asked to make sure their barns and outbuildings are secure during lockdown.

The warning has come from the county's police after incidents across the country where people have gathered for illegal raves and events.

Currently no incidents like this have taken place in Wiltshire, and the force want to make sure it stays this way.

They're encouraging rural communities to be vigilant.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said:

"Due to the colder weather, it is clear that those organising these illegal large gatherings are looking for indoor locations and venues.

Therefore, we are urging those who have large buildings, such as warehouses and barns, on their land, to take extra precautions to ensure they are secure.

Also, if you are aware of any information or suspicious activity which could suggest a large gathering is being planned, then please report this to us via 101. If an incident is already in progress, then please call us on 999."
