95% of Wiltshire families offered their preferred primary school
Children have found out where they will be going in September
95% of families in Wiltshire have been offered their first preference of primary schools for this year.
Meanwhile, 99% have been given one of their three preferences.
Parents and carers who have applied online will be sent an email confirming the school place offer for their child, if they have selected to receive their decision via email.
If they have selected to receive their decision by the Parent Portal, then parents will need to log back into the Parent Portal to view the outcome.
All parents and carers have until Tuesday 3 May 2022, to confirm they wish to accept or decline a place.
Parents who have submitted a paper application will receive a letter confirming the outcome of their application which will be posted out to them today (Tuesday 19th April).
Cllr Laura Mayes, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills said:
“We know that families across the county will be eagerly awaiting today’s news, as their child prepares to start school. I’m pleased to be sharing such high figures once again, with 95% offered their first preference, showing that Wiltshire is delivering quality school places locally where they are needed.”
The right to an independent appeal is open to anyone who has not received an offer at one of their preferred schools.
You can find out how to appeal by going to the Wiltshire Council website.
